Moving

Its happening. The Robot and I will be moving to North Carolina the last week of December.

Even though we have been discussing the opportunity for about a year, it didn’t REALLY hit me until I got the email giving me my date to report to work over there. The moment I read the email I wanted to burst into tears. But I couldn’t… people here at work still don’t know and I am not supposed to talk about it until Monday. So I had to put on the happy face when all I wanted to do was BAWL my eyes out.

Yes. It IS what The Robot and I want. But it also means moving to the other side of the country and away from our family. That is the hardest part about the move. That, and it is such a short time to try to get all the preparations done as well as gorge ourselves with family time.

For the last few days it has been a rollercoaster of emotions… From excitement to anguish, minute by minute. We both keep thinking about how this is beneficial for our future, even if it seems terrible right now. We know, in the long run… It is for the best.

Real Beauty

Beauty Tips
by Audrey Hepburn
For attractive lips,
Speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes,
Seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure,
Share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair,
Let a child run his fingers through it once a day.
For poise,
Walk with the knowledge you’ll never walk alone.
People, even more than things, have to be restored,
renewed, revived, reclaimed [...]

Excuses… Excuses

I thought I would be so much better about posting… But then, as usual, work has gotten in the way. I am now doing 3 people’s jobs and still have the same amount of time to accomplish them all! Yikes. So we have done 2 podcasts since my last post… Which was a podcast. I [...]

Podcast

So… Ryan and I finally got our podcast recorded, compressed and ready.
Our first podcast is about Costco, Top 10 Boad Games We Hate, and 5 Questions of “What Do You Know” focusing on Ryan’s freakish knowledge of Back to the Future.
Here is a picture of Ryan with Tom Wilson, AKA Biff.

Yeah… He was so nervous [...]

Say It Ain’t So!

So sad!
No more Circus Animals for me! I love these things and all the generic kinds are disgusting.
I only eat about 5 of these a year (5 cookies, not 5 bags) and it is usually when someone else buys them and I get to snag a few. It looks like I should have been more [...]

October 1st.

Okay… How did it get to be October so fast. Pretty soon people will be dressing up in silly (and these days, usually slutty) outfits. Then it we will all be stuffing ourselves with Turkey. Then finally we will all be in a panic worrying about last minute frivoulous gifts.
Time flies by once you get [...]

I used to cook.

Before I met Ryan, I thought that when/if I got married that I would be the chef in the family. I grew up in a family where my dad NEVER cooked anything.
(Well, in truth, my dad would cook. But only on those special occasions where he would bring out the dutch ovens and cook. So, [...]
