That’s exactly it, Jane. Pretty good observation.
It’s not that it’s bad – you’re just moving on to the next stage of your life, which you will be for the rest of your life. But you’ll have other moments that change your status too — ones that you can’t plan for or have 9 months to get used to.
You won’t really leave your real Jane-self that you are now behind, you’re just leaving the Karen-who-is-not-yet-a-mom behind. Who you really are, just plain Jane — with no descriptors, will never go away. It just might feel that way for awhile.
