6 weeks

It has been 6 weeks since Cambria was born. Wow! What a 6 weeks it has been!

We are still trying to work out the sleep thing. This week I have tried to start the Babywise schedule. Since I didn’t try to institute it at birth, I think it will be hard to get her on a schedule. I think the hardest part about the whole thing is that Cambria can’t seem to get through a feeding without falling sleep. And she doesn’t wake up easily from the “milk coma”. In fact, it is difficult to wake her in any situation. If she is asleep, she is a sleep. You just have to wait on for her to wake.

Grandma's visit

Grandma came to visit as well! She might have been bored with us since we didn’t go out much, but it was great having her here! Grandma got to read a lot and be introduced to a few new tv shows while she visited.

I have not been good about documenting Cambria’s achievements. In fact, I haven’t even got a baby book for her. :( Bad Mommy!!! Today, we decided that she needs to move up from Newborn diapers to 1’s. The clothes we brought her home from the hospital in won’t fit her any longer either. Our little baby is getting big so fast! She changes every day. She has even started smiling and mimicking facial movements. Ryan likes to stick his tongue out at her to make her do it back.

5 WeeksWe started going back to church a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, today she had a blowout  in her diaper while at church. It scared her so much when she did it that it caused her to cry. When I picked her up out of her car seat I needed the wipes too. It had soaked through 3 layers of clothing. Silly parents forgot to bring another set of clothes to change her into and she needed a bath after that anyway, so we brought her home early.

We are also figuring out how to organize ourselves to get out of the house. We have to plan farther in advance to get baby and Mom and Dad out the door. You would think it would just require you to throw the kid in the car seat and leave. Well, SURE! But you also have to account for feeding, diapering and clothing  the baby as well as the soothing time in-between putting on your make-up and doing your hair and putting clothes on.

    6 weeks has gone quickly!

We got by just fine without a baby book. Don’t stress…just take a lot of pictures! You will get to books later.
